Women in History
Entertainers such as Emma Nevada, Lola Montez, and Lotta Crabtree gave performances to entertain the community. The first woman dentist in California, Nellie Pooler Chapman helped inspire others with her music and poetry. Sarah Davis was an early pioneer who traveled in a covered wagon from Independence, Missouri to Nevada City in 1850. |
