4th of July Parade & Celebration. Parade down the historic streets of downtown Nevada City, California. Celebration afterwards at the Nevada County Fairgrounds with food, musical entertainment and a fantastic fireworks display beginning at 9:30 p.m.

The Nevada County Concert Band will perform a free pre-parade curbside concert for all music-loving early-birds seeking shady seats. The 10am concert starts one hour before the 11am downtown Nevada City parade, and the band will continue to play periodically throughout the parade too.

Summer Nights 2008-Nevada City’s Annual Celebration. During Summer Nights, Nevada City’s landmark historic district is closed to motorized traffic and filled with arts, crafts, classic cars, food, drink and music. Leading Sierra foothills musicians perform on outdoor stages throughout the downtown area. Hours are 6-9 p.m. There is no admission charge.
Nevada City is located at the 2,500-foot elevation on the forested western slope of the Sierra Nevada. Summer days and evenings are cooler than in the Sacramento Valley.
From Sacramento, take eastbound Interstate 80 to Auburn and Highway 49 north to Nevada City. It’s a one-hour drive from the capital. From Marysville and the north valley, take eastbound Highway 20. From Reno and Lake Tahoe, take westbound I-80 and state route 20.
