ABOUT THE PLAY: The setting is St. Nicholas Catholic School, the Bronx, 1964. When Father Flynn is suspected of an inappropriate relationship with one of the students, the school principal, Sister Aloysius, has to decide what to do about it. She is hampered by the fact that he is charismatic and popular, and outranks her in the Church hierarchy. She doesn’t have enough evidence to make an informed decision. Yet, a decision must be made. This crackling drama twists and turns like a rollercoaster, and will have you changing sides repeatedly - even long after you leave the theatre!

Activities will include living history presentations in the Bourn Cottage, Mine Yard and Clubhouse. In the “cottage”, volunteers will be dressed in period costumes and will recreate characters from the Empire Mine’s colorful past. There will also be live music throughout the day. Mr. & Mrs. Bourn and their guests will greet you and speak to you as if you were visiting in the year 1905. In the mine yard, volunteers portray workers of the past and enact a working day at the mine. HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE: How to Reset Your Numbers-- A FREE Health Talk with Dr. Don Williams, DC
Dr. Don Williams, D.C., master practitioner of the BioEnergetic Synchronication Technique, will give a FREE health talk on “High Blood Pressure: How to Reset Your Numbers”.
High blood pressure is normal when running from danger, but inappropriate for resting and most modern daily needs. In other words, the body is stuck in survival mode, operating “out of present time” with regard to blood pressure.
When blood pressure remains elevated, the heart, blood vessels and muscles become damaged. Secondary problems such as heart disease, heart attack, blood clots, high cholesterol, atherosclerosis, stroke, poor circulation and varicose veins may develop. The liver is affected, and the adrenal and immune systems become exhausted.
Dr. Don will discuss stress and other factors contributing to high blood pressure, and how to reverse them. He will demonstrate an effective way to clear the body of Subconscious Memory Override (SEMO), a condition in which buried blocks in the nervous system keep the body stuck in “fight or flight” mode. Q&A follows.
Event will be held Tuesday, May 13, 2008, 7:00 pm - 8:30pm at the Vibrant Living Center, 1097 E. Main St., Suite G, Grass Valley. (530) 271-5921 for directions.
