Truckee, CA This September, take the time and listen to nature’s beauty and explore your creative power within as the sixth annual Trails and Vistas returns to Truckee September 12 & 13, 2009.  Themed Terra Caeli, which translates from Latin as Earth and Sky, the interactive art hike features eight individual performing venues positioned along a two-mile single-track trail that begins at the Tahoe Donner Equestrian Center. The unique blend of hiking with artistic expression will honor nature, art, and culture by featuring thirty collaborating artists.  Host sponsor, Tahoe Donner Equestrian Center, will offer a beautiful hike among majestic aspen groves, towering pines and grassy meadows.

“At every stop you will get a different and unexpected experience through art, culture, and the environment. We hope that your memories will stay with you long after the walk has ended … your own thoughtful reflections on art and nature,” says Artistic Director Nancy Tieken Lopez

Terra Caeli promises to take you to a place where Earth meets sky and art intersects with the landscape. As you travel on the trail, allow your soul to connect with the Earth while your mind is inspired by the artistic performances that are emotional and thought provoking.  The opportunity for each participant to connect with a core inner being, the Earth, while looking outward to the universe, will garner insights of the interconnection of both.

Hikers at Trails and Vistas will experience the familiar select poets, musicians, storytellers and artists.  In addition, a new equestrian element will be showcased with world-renowned Cavalia choreographer Alain Gauthier, partnering with horse trainer Kansas Carradine, and artist Leslie Ann Web. These creative professionals have shared their insights and talents with InnerRhythms Dance Theatre to bring a unique equine performance to Trails and Vistas.

“The horse and energy workshops have been wonderful experiences for our dancers to discover the inspiration of working with horses,” says InnerRhythms Artistic and Executive Director, Elizabeth Archer.

Tickets for Trails and Vistas Terra Caeli go on sale locally July 1, 2009.  Organizers recommend purchasing tickets early to guarantee the type of hike and time required. Some specialty hikes this year will include a slower paced leisure hike and an adult-only hike. No tickets are available the day of the event, as it has sold out in years past.  Log on to www.TrailsandVistas.com for more information and to visit the photo gallery.
