Mark the end of summer with the 3rd Annual Run for Friendship. This is a 5K and 10K run/walk for everyone. The run is part of the Gold Country Grand Prix race series. This is The Friendship Club's biggest fund raiser of the year and supports our Academic Program. Well known to Nevada County and beyond, Ludi Hinrichs brings a whole new mix of talent and experience with his six-piece group, CHICKENBONZ. This is jazz crossover, original music and arrangements with a few select covers. ChickenBonz has a flair for quirky humor, skilled showmanship, and tasty four part horn arrangements. The line up is: Joe Fajen, trombone, tabla, and percussion; Randy McKean on sax, clarinet, and bass clarinet; Murray Campbell, oboe, English horn, and violin; Ludi Hinrichs, trombone, piano, frame drum, didjeridu, and lead vocal; Tom Hannickel on stand up bass, and Kit Bailey on drums and percussion. The 44th Annual Constitution Day Parade tops a weekend of festivities Sept.11-12, 2010 in this historic California Gold Rush town.
Nevada City’s Constitution Day Parade has been a local tradition since 1967 and is reported to be the oldest and largest Constitution observance in western America.
The 2 p.m. Sunday parade features more than 100 entries and culminates other activities including Civil War battle reenactments in Pioneer Park, the Gold Country Duck Race on Deer Creek and a free outdoor big band concert in the downtown historic district. full info and schedule

Cohousing Slideshow. Wolf Creek Lodge, an Active Adult Cohousing community in Grass Valley, California will be featured during a presentation on Sunday, September 12 at 1:00. Katie McCamant, who with her partner, Charles Durrett, brought cohousing to the United States from Denmark 25 years ago, will present a slideshow on cohousing with the focus on Wolf Creek Lodge.
