Donner Lake-West End: Boating, beach, paddle boats, volleyball, sail boarding, playgrounds, basketball, tennis, horseshoes. Off I80; 530 582-7720.

Stampede/Boca Reservoir Areas: Camping, boating, barbecues and picnic tables in some areas. Off I80 seven miles east of Truckee; Tahoe National Forest.
Prosser Reservoir: Camping, picnic site, boating, interpretive trail at site of a Donner Party camp. Off Hwy. 89 exit of I-80; Tahoe National Forest.
South Yuba River: California Department of Parks and Recreation is linking 20-mile long river corridor. Access at Bridgeport, Purdon Rd., Edwards Crossing (North Bloomfield Rd.), Washington, Laings Crossing (Bowman Lake Rd.) and Hwy. 49 bridge.
Scenic Grouse Lakes Area: 6 trails (Round Lake, Lindsey Lakes, Crooked Lakes, Beyers Lakes, Grouse Ridge, Glacier Lake), from 2 1/4 one way to 8 1/8 miles one-way, moderately difficult to difficult, access from Bowman Rd. off Hwy. 20 near I-80 and Eagle Lakes exit off I-80.
BRIDGEPORT: Old Hwy. 20 out of Grass Valley to picturesque Bitney Springs Road, right to Pleasant Valley Road, right to park. Site includes longest single span covered bridge in existence, ranger station.
